If you have any queries about Core Clinic and our podiatry services, physiotherapy treatment or acupuncture
See our FAQs below or contact us
Do I need a referral?
Not at all!
Whether you are coming as a private patient or injured under ACC, we are here to help.
(we can fill out all the ACC paperwork in the clinic for you)
I've never seen a podiatrist before, what do I need to bring?
Depending on what you are coming in for, when you make your appointment, one of our staff will inform you what to bring with you.
For a bio mechanical consult we suggest you bring shorts, your sports shoes, and your work shoes. For any other consult, just bring your usual self.
How do I know who to see?
When you call to make an appointment our reception team will be able to point you in the right direction of who you need to see for you injury or concern. The benefit of Core Clinic’s multi disciplined approach is after you have seen one of our staff and if you are referred to see another, they are just one room away!
Can I make an appointment with more than one of the team at once?
We do our best to try and find appointment times that suit you.
If that means booking consecutive appointments with two of our teams we will do our best to make that happen for you.
How long are the consultations?
This can differ depending on the appointment. We allow 45 Minutes for all our initial consultations so we have enough time to do a thorough assessment and answer all the questions you might have.
How does acupuncture work?
The pain-relieving effects of acupuncture can be explained by both Chinese Medicine (restoring a smooth flow of Qi within the Meridian Channels system) and in Western science (promoting the release of local and systemic natural pain killers as well as anti-inflammatory chemicals).
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture needle insertion is usually painless but in some cases a variety of feelings like tingling, twitching, ache, numbness, cramping, electrical sensations can be experienced.
Adverse effects are rare, but on rare occasions local bruises due to needle insertion and mild ache can occur after treatment.
I'm not covered by ACC, can I still see a physio?
Yes, we see a lot of private patients for physio who are not covered under ACC.
Why is there a surcharge?
At core clinic we pride ourselves on offering a great quality of care.
All our staff are university qualified and have numerous years of industry experience.
The surcharge allows our team to focus on quality, providing suitable appointment durations to ensure a comprehensive treatment is undertaken.
This ultimately allows us to focus on reducing the total number of appointments – getting you back to normal in the shortest timeframe is our core priority.
